Clash Detection

Clash detection is the process of identifying geometric conflicts or interferences between design elements within a shared 3D model. Typical clashes may involve pipes, structures, cable trays, equipment or access routes occupying the same space.

Clash detection is widely used in design coordination, retrofit planning and construction preparation. By detecting issues early in a digital environment, teams can reduce rework, improve constructability and avoid costly surprises during installation or shutdown work.
