SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping)

SLAM is a technology that enables a device to map an environment while simultaneously determining its own position within that environment in real time. It is widely used in mobile scanning, robotics and autonomous systems.

In reality capture workflows, SLAM makes it possible to collect spatial data efficiently in complex indoor or outdoor environments without relying solely on fixed reference points. It is particularly useful in handheld and wearable scanning systems, where speed, mobility and continuous positioning are essential.
