Case: MM Kotkamills and SolidComp
Challenge
MM Kotkamills aimed to move from project-specific laser scanning and data management to a continuous, proactive operating model. The goal was to establish a foundation for using laser scan and other 3D data across the entire factory – reliably and in real time – far into the future. The age of the factory presented risks in the form of fragmented baseline data and incomplete documentation.
Solution
SolidComp created a foundation for MM Kotkamills that enables precise and controlled development and maintenance of the factory model, as well as the visual and user-friendly use of that model through the Reality Twin solution. The collaboration began in 2017 and has developed over the years into a strategic partnership. The Reality Twin factory model provides an up-to-date view of the entire production environment and supports both individual projects and continuous improvement work.
Reality Twin is used for design, worksite visualisation and safety communications. SolidComp’s flexible approach and quick response have supported long-term development.
