In a factory or any industrial environment, information needs vary by role: designers require precise measurements, maintenance seeks service history, production monitors process bottlenecks, the safety team needs on-site instructions, and management requires an overall picture. Third-party operators, such as suppliers and contractors, also use the same data.
In many factories, accurate 3D scan data has been collected mainly for individual projects, even though making it available to the entire organisation could save time, reduce errors, and improve decision-making. Reality Twin gathers all critical information into a single, visual, and easy-to-use format, ensuring everyone gets the right information at the right time.
Accuracy Starts with the Right Coordinate System
Before starting any laser scanning work, our key question to the customer is: “Which coordinate system will the data be linked to?” If the coordinate system is already in place, we can tie the data directly to it; if not, we define it together with the customer. This ensures that the model can be updated and supplemented for years without distortions.
Each measurement is thus anchored to its real location and scale, forming the basis for design, maintenance, and safety decisions. Not everything needs to start from scratch, as we can also utilise existing materials or datasets produced by others when needed.

A Complete Factory Model in Two Weeks
After scanning, the data is merged, aligned, and optimised for smooth use without compromising accuracy. Noise is removed, quality is checked, and the Reality Twin model is enriched with annotations, area divisions, and metadata as required by the customer.
The completed model can be published in Reality Twin in as little as two weeks, ready for use by all authorised stakeholders in the factory.

Images and Model – One View of Reality
High-quality 360° images captured during laser scanning complement the 3D model. When images and the model are in the same system, they can be used in remote meetings, training, and site planning. For many customers, this has replaced traditional photographs and improved mutual understanding.

All Information in One Easily Accessible View
Reality Twin consolidates all information into a single interface accessible without specialist software. The interface and tools can be customised for different roles, enabling designers, maintenance teams, safety officers, and management to work with the same dataset.
The model can be enriched with equipment and process data, such as technical specifications, safety instructions, maintenance schedules, and operating parameters. When document management is integrated with the model, information flows both ways – documents can be found from the model, and the model from the documents.

Together, in Real Time, and Always Up to Date
Reality Twin is provided as a monthly-licence package with unlimited users. User and access management ensure that everyone has access to exactly the data relevant to them. This reduces duplication of work and speeds up decision-making. Access control can also be leveraged in tendering, where each participant is given a consistent and well-curated information source.
Reality Twin supports unlimited data flow and continuous updates without performance loss. The model remains responsive and reliable as the amount of data grows and its use expands to new sites and projects.
