Photogrammetry, aerial photography
Photogrammetry is a technique used to measure and interpret the shape, position and other characteristics of objects in three dimensions based on images or photographs. It relies on analysing multiple viewpoints and allows the creation of accurate 3D models, e.g. in land surveying, archaeology, building documentation and industrial measurement.
Photogrammetry uses both aerial and ground-level images and is applicable to anything from small objects to large industrial or landscape areas. As the technology has developed, digital cameras and software have made photogrammetry more accurate and accessible across various fields.
