Asset Hierarchy

Asset hierarchy is a structured representation of physical assets and their relationships within a facility, plant or technical system. It organises equipment into logical levels, such as site, area, system, unit and component, to support maintenance, documentation and lifecycle management.

A well-defined asset hierarchy improves traceability, information management and operational clarity. It helps teams locate the right equipment, connect documentation to the correct asset and maintain consistency across maintenance systems, digital twins and other enterprise platforms.
