SolidComp Reality Twin – Step-by-Step Implementation

SolidComp Reality Twin is a realistic 3D model of your production facility. It seamlessly integrates 3D scan data, design models, 360° imagery and asset information into a single visual interface. By aligning asset data with a realistic 3D environment, Reality Twin ensures that the information you need is just one click away.

The Reality Twin onboarding process can be initiated independently, without waiting for a larger project to commence. By starting early, implementation becomes a modular task that can be decoupled from the overall project workload. Early deployment does not increase costs, making it a flexible and efficient way to prepare for future operations.

The implementation begins with a kick-off meeting, where we define the project’s scope, timeline and objectives. During this session we align expectations and outline the data sources and technical requirements needed for a successful deployment. This ensures that all parties are on the same page from the outset and sets a foundation for the subsequent steps in the Reality Twin implementation.

Reality Twin Brings All Data Sources Together

We gather and verify any existing 3D or 2D imaging data, ensuring it aligns with newly acquired data points. We are able to work flexibly with a wide range of file formats and data sources.

Whether your data comes from previous scanning projects, engineering models, sensor systems or external service providers, our team will validate, post-process and seamlessly integrate it into a unified Reality Twin environment. This ensures a consistent, high-quality digital foundation without the need to start from scratch — saving you time, resources and effort.

Reality Twin can also be implemented completely without new imaging. If the required data already exists, we can integrate customer-owned or third-party asset information directly.

Phase 1:

Data Collection & 3D Imaging

In the first phase, we:

Verify the facility’s coordinate system.
Conduct 3D imaging using laser scanning to capture the production environment.
Use advanced technologies such as mobile laser scanning, reference point surveying, aerial imaging and ground-penetrating radar to enhance data accuracy.

In the Nordic countries, our in-house SolidComp experts handle the scanning process. For global projects, we partner with trusted, trained specialists who adhere to our high-quality standards.

Phase 2:

Training & System Readiness

In the second phase, we:

Provide Reality Twin user training for your team.
Refine the service maintenance model to ensure continuous data accuracy.
Offer technical support for a smooth and efficient deployment.

At this stage, automated or robotic data collection can also be initiated to ensure real-time updates and accuracy.

Phase 3:

Full Integration & Expansion

Once the system is live, Reality Twin can be further expanded and integrated into your operational environment.

This includes:

Asset inventory and machine location mapping.
Defining system needs and requirements for data integration.
Exploring and implementing API connections with other systems.

We also provide additional training and continuous support, ensuring that Reality Twin adapts and evolves to meet your business needs.
