SolidComp and Fincet to Launch a New Visual Tool for Industrial Shutdown Management

SolidComp and Fincet have started a collaboration that combines the best capabilities of both companies’ flagship products in a new joint solution for industrial shutdown management.

By connecting Tool4pro’s maintenance shutdown management with the Reality Twin 3D environment, the solution brings shutdown tasks, schedules and related information into the real spatial context of the plant, reducing shutdown time and maintenance costs and delivering measurable value for process industry operations.

SolidComp, a provider of industrial digital twin solutions, and Fincet Oy, the software company behind Tool4pro, launch a new joint solution for industrial customers. The collaboration connects Tool4pro’s real-time shutdown management software with SolidComp’s Reality Twin environment, bringing shutdown tasks, schedules and related project information directly into a visual 3D model of the plant.

From Task Lists to Location-Based Shutdown Control

The new solution, Visual Shutdown Management, links Tool4pro project tasks and shutdown data to the exact physical locations of assets inside the Reality Twin’s 3D environment. Instead of managing shutdown execution solely through task lists, teams can now see what work is planned, where it takes place, which dependencies apply and what documentation or safety requirements are connected to that specific area or asset.

This creates a more practical way to manage shutdowns and turnarounds in process industry environments. When combined with Reality Twin’s scan-based visual model of the plant, those workflows gain an operational context that is much easier to understand and use in practice.

The joint solution is intended for factories, mills and process industry sites where shutdowns involve multiple internal teams, contractors, safety-critical work and tight schedules. The value from using the Visual Shutdown Management tool is practical. Shutdown preparation becomes clearer, and task coordination becomes more transparent. Risks linked to misunderstood locations, missing context or fragmented information are reduced.

A New Level of Shutdown Project Management

Lasse Kauppinen, CEO of Fincet Oy, says the joint solution raises shutdown project management beyond traditional planning tools:

“This joint solution takes shutdown project management to a completely new level by adding a visual layer with Reality Twin. Task lists show what needs to be done, but they don’t show the real-world environment where it happens. Gantt charts and task lists remain important, but on their own they do not show what the work really looks like in the plant, where it takes place, or what other tasks and safety conditions surround it. By connecting Tool4pro with Reality Twin, we can bring project management directly into the real operating environment and help customers manage shutdowns with much greater clarity, control and efficiency.”

Sandor Nagy, CEO of SolidComp, says the new collaboration is another strong example of how broadly the Reality Twin platform can be applied:

“This collaboration and joint solution are again a good example of how strong the Reality Twin concept is, both visually and technically. Because it brings data together into one practical environment and connects that data to the real facility, it can be used as a tool for many different objectives, from training and safety to maintenance and shutdown execution. That flexibility is one of the greatest strengths of the platform.”

A Practical Use Case for Reality Twin

The collaboration with Fincet provides another practical example of how a digital twin can be used beyond visualisation alone. Reality Twin is not only a model of the facility, it is a shared operational environment where asset data, documents, tasks, schedules and workflows are connected to the real site in one place.

In shutdown planning especially, this matters. Existing systems often contain the necessary data, but not in a form that is easy to use under pressure. The joint solution shows how visual, reality-based context can make that information more actionable for maintenance leaders, shutdown planners, engineering teams, contractors and HSEQ professionals.
