Jokainen &#8221;splat&#8221; eli piste m\u00e4\u00e4ritell\u00e4\u00e4n paikkatiedon, kovarianssimatriisin (joka kuvaa muodon ja suunnan), v\u00e4rin (RGB), l\u00e4pin\u00e4kyvyyden (alfa) ja muiden visuaalisten ominaisuuksien perusteella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toisin kuin perinteiset 3D-grafiikan menetelm\u00e4t, jotka perustuvat kolmioverkkoihin tai pistepilviin, Gaussian Splatting k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 jatkuvia, p\u00e4\u00e4llekk\u00e4in render\u00f6it\u00e4vi\u00e4 volumetrisia primitiivej\u00e4.
