Se toimii keskeisen\u00e4 ty\u00f6kaluna prosessien suunnittelussa, k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4, kunnossapidossa ja valvonnassa. PI-kaaviossa kuvataan muun muassa putkistojen reititykset, venttiilit, pumput, s\u00e4ili\u00f6t sek\u00e4 mittaus- ja s\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6laitteet, tarjoten kattavan yleiskuvan prosessij\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n toiminnasta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PI-kaavioiden standardointi varmistaa yhten\u00e4isen esitystavan ja helpottaa eri toimijoiden v\u00e4list\u00e4 yhteisty\u00f6t\u00e4. Esimerkiksi eurooppalainen standardi EN ISO 10628 m\u00e4\u00e4rittelee PI-kaavioiden laatimisen yleiset ohjeet, kun taas suomalainen PSK 3602 -standardi asettaa v\u00e4himm\u00e4isvaatimukset esitett\u00e4v\u00e4lle tiedolle. N\u00e4iden standardien mukaisesti PI-kaavioissa k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n sovittuja symboli- ja merkint\u00e4tapoja, jotka helpottavat kaavioiden tulkintaa ja v\u00e4hent\u00e4v\u00e4t virheiden mahdollisuutta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PI-kaavioiden laatiminen ja yll\u00e4pito on olennainen osa prosessiteollisuuden dokumentaatiota. Ne tukevat prosessien turvallisuutta, tehokkuutta ja luotettavuutta tarjoamalla selke\u00e4n kuvan j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n rakenteesta ja toiminnasta. Ajantasaiset PI-kaaviot ovat my\u00f6s t\u00e4rkeit\u00e4 koulutuksessa, vianetsinn\u00e4ss\u00e4 ja prosessien optimoinnissa, sill\u00e4 ne mahdollistavat nopean reagoinnin muuttuviin tilanteisiin ja
